Gift Shop at Salvisa Station- A Hidden Gem

Have you ever run across the cutest shop in a sleepy little town and realize it’s a hidden gem? That is the Gift Shop at Salvisa Station. At 400 Main Street in Salvisa, Kentucky, just outside of Harrodsburg, you will spot this little shop on the corner. This gift shop carries loads of great items for babies, children and ladies.

The building itself has had many lives including a filling station, train station and a mechanic shop. The rich history of this quaint spot goes back for generations.

Owner Amy Adkins takes so much pride in her shop. Her father purchased and restored the space and with its new facelift, the enterprise was born. The merchandise is focused on women and children. Racks of the most adorable children’s clothing and accessories line the walls. Much of the clothing is designed by Mud Pie which is not only high quality but colorful and fun with bows, demin, embroidery and other embellishments that are so endearing.

A chest full of fabric dolls caught my eye, all with an ocean them. Sweet mermaid girls with shells and ponytails alongside pirates with peg legs and parrots. I just couldn’t get over how cute everything was. If you have children or are shopping for gifts, this is the place to be.

For the well-dressed lady they carry clothing, purses, jewelry and accessories such as travel coffee mugs.. that is an accessory, right?! Kentucky and University themed items are available including home goods, entertaining items and hats. Visitors will also find frames, wall art, pillows and door hangers.
